During the week ending February 10, average prices of pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) in the Chinese domestic market have indicated a stable trend, while transaction activity in the domestic market has been better than in the previous week and is now at low-to-medium levels. Average PPGI prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market have remained on a stable trend with improved transaction activity seen compared to the week before the holiday. Meanwhile, inventory levels in the spot market have increased after the holiday, exerting negative pressure on PPGI prices. However, demand from downstream users is expected to pick up after the Lantern Festival (February 11). It is expected that PPGI prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely fluctuate within a limited range in the coming week.
