The Brazilian slabs producers are negotiating exports to the US in a range of $580/mt to $590/mt, FOB conditions for the product of the basic commercial grades, the same reference as last week, a market source told SteelOrbis, adding that $540/mt, under the same conditions, remains as the reference price for the negotiations with European clients, but few fresh deals with the region were closed recently.
In June, Brazil exported 741,500mt of slabs, the highest monthly volume since October 2017.
Ternium Brazil exported 328,600mt to the US at $592/mt and 8,500mt to Italy at $460/mt, Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem exported 154,400mt to the US at $590/mt, 46,000mt to Mexico at $583/mt, 40,000mt to Turkey at $585/mt and 25,200mt to Poland at $595/mt, while ArcelorMittal Tubarao exported 133,700mt to the US at $599/mt and 4,800mt to South Korea at $435/mt.
Prices are FOB conditions, probably closed in April and include different quality grades.
