The Brazilian producers are negotiating the exports of slab in a range of $420/mt to $430/mt, against $440/mt one week ago, FOB conditions for the base commercial grades, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

Negotiations with US customers are expected to resume in September under Section 232 quota regulations, and until then Brazilian producers remain focused on deals with clients in the EU, Latin America and Asia.

Preliminary indications from the local customs authorities point to a stable volume of slab being exported in July, when compared with the 430,300 mt exported in June.
