Brazilian slab export offers to Asia increase slightly

Brazilian slab exports to Asia are being offered in a price range of $350/mt to $360/mt, against $345/mt to $355/mt one week ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades. The price range translates to $385/mt to $395/mt, CFR conditions to China or South Korea.

Export offers remain stable week-on-week to Europe at $345/mt to $355/mt FOB, which translates to $370/mt to $390/mt CFR. As for offers to the US, prices are also stable at $365/mt to $375/mt FOB, which translates to $375/mt to $395/mt CFR to the US East coast, and $380/mt to $395/mt CFR to the US West coast.

Sources tell SteelOrbis that Ternium and Pecem, slab producers dedicated to exports, have closed their order books for supply until August, while ArcelorMittal Tubarao remains exporting slab to associated companies abroad.
