Sources tell SteelOrbis that the scenario for slab export offers from Brazil is unchanged over the week: exports of the basic commercial grades to the US range from $405/mt to $410/mt, FOB conditions, and to Asia at $415/mt, CFR conditions. Due to lack of demand, no sales to European countries were concluded over the last two weeks.

Freight rates are also stable, in a range of $14/mt to $18/mt to the US East coast and $20/mt to $25/mt to the US West coast, while freight rates to Asian countries reportedly remain at $43/mt.

Preliminary numbers from customs remain pointing to a decline in July from the 585,000 mt of slab exported from Brazil in June.
