Steel distributors in Sao Paulo are negotiating HRC within the domestic market, in small volumes, at BRL 4,150/mt ($1,071/mt), against BRL 3,950/mt two weeks ago.
The reference price refers to the 1008/1012 grades, 4.75mm thickness product, full taxes except IPI conditions. It is usually entitled to significant discounts in case of large volumes or direct acquisition from the steel producers.
In July, the Brazilian imports of HRC were limited to 900 mt at $670/mt, FOB conditions, shipped from South Korea, against 150 mt in June.
The last offer of HRC received by Brazilian importers from China was priced at $515/mt, against $610/mt two weeks ago. Such price refers to CFR conditions to ports in the Brazilian South or Southeastern coast, having the A36/Q235 grade product as reference.
