Brazilian HRC exports decline in January

Brazil exported 143,300 mt of HRC in January, 24 percent less than in December 2016, at an average FOB price increased by 9.5 percent to $470/mt, FOB conditions, for price deals probably closed in November 2016.
ArcelorMittal exported 106,200 mt at $451/mt, CSN exported 32,800 mt at $506/mt and Usiminas exported 4,100 mt at $688/mt, all FOB conditions.
The main destinations were Latin America (88,600 mt at $420/mt), the EU (32,800 mt at $506/mt), Asia (30,500 mt at $431/mt) and Turkey (23,600 mt at $467/mt), all FOB conditions.
Different sources told SteelOrbis that a range of $490/mt to $540/mt, FOB conditions, is the current base for negotiations for export of HRC of the basic commercial grades from Brazil.
