Brazilian HDG exports offers decline again

The reference price for Brazilian hot dipped galvanized (HDG) exports is currently $850/mt, against $890/mt, two weeks ago, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75mm thickness product as reference.

In January 2021, Brazil exported 5,800 mt of HDG, while importing 41,700 mt of the product, comparable to 22,300 mt and 16,800 mt, respectively, in December 2020. The exports in January were all destined to South American countries, in average at $658/mt, FOB conditions, while the imports came chiefly from Asia (40,700 mt, of which 37,700 mt from China).

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, medium to large volumes to end users or distributors, at BRL 5,220/mt ($972/mt) against BRL 5,161/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
