Since early February, Brazilian producers remain negotiating Galvalume for export at $920/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The reference price in the Brazilian domestic market today is BRL 5,100/mt ($1,455/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, with the AZ-150 grade as reference and sales by distributors in small volumes. Larger volumes and sales by the producers are usually entitled to substantial reduction of prices.

In March, Brazil exported 9,800 mt of Galvalume, all by CSN and destined to the US (9,200 mt), and to South American countries (600 mt) at an average price of $972/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in January 2018.

Pushed by the high domestic prices, Brazil imported in March 10,500 mt of Galvalume from China at $757/mt, FOB conditions.
