The reference price Brazilian slab export deals are now in the range of $400/mt to $405/mt, FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

The price compares with $410/mt one week ago, the source said, adding that the downtrend is unavoidable, as the price of HRC in China is approaching $420/mt, impacting the international prices of most steel products.

In April, Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem exported slabs at $403/mt, ArcelorMittal Tubarao at $457/mt, and ThyssenKrupp CSA at $435/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in February.
