Brazilian export slab offers to Asian clients remain traded in a price range of $355/mt to $365/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, the same range as last week. Freight rates to the region also remain stable in a range of $35/mt to $40/mt.
For exports to Europe, offers are also stable at $355/mt to $365/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, while freight rates to the region are stable at $25/mt in average.
To the US, offers are today in the $390/mt to $400/mt FOB range, with average freight rates of $15/mt for shipments to the East coast and $25/mt to the West coast, both offers and freight rates stable from last week.
In June, Brazil exported 585,000 mt of slab, against 523,000 mt in May. China was the main destination (284,100 mt at $333/mt), followed by the US (242,500 mt at $391/mt) and Canada (58,400 mt at $334/mt), all FOB conditions, different quality grades and price deals probably closed in April.
The exporters were Pecem (278,600 mt), Ternium (161,900 mt), ArcelorMittal (114,800 mt), CSN (19,500 mt) and Usiminas (10,200 mt).
