On February 14, SteelOrbis reported domestic prices for Argentinian HRC at $665-680/mt ex-works.

According to sources, the prices in Argentina for HRC are presently at $670-680/mt ex-works. This price range reflects an increase of $5/mt from the bottom of the previous range.

Sources note this price range has been maintained throughout the month of March and may continue into April despite the decreased import offers into the region and downward trend on global scrap prices. One source noted that the positive sentiment in early to mid-March did not shift prices drastically upward, although a few quiet deals were heard at $685/mt ex-works. At the time, positive international trends moved prices to the top of the range, and the updated downward shift in global scrap prices is expected to push prices to the lower part of the range in April.
