Angang Steel raises its ex-mill flat steel prices for February

On January 17, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel announced its ex-mill flat steel prices for February, making upward adjustments to its priceds. The details are as follows (comparisons being with January price levels):

1.     The producer's hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are up by RMB 300/mt ($46/mt). Thus, the price of SPHC3.1 × 1,000-1,199 mm low carbon HRC is RMB 4,210/mt ($640/mt), while Q235 5.5 x 1,500 mm common carbon HRC costs RMB 4,100/mt ($623/mt)

2.     Angang Steel's cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have increased by RMB 200/mt ($30/mt). As a result, its new price of SPCC 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm is RMB 4,890/mt ($743/mt)

3.     Galvanized coil prices have increased by RMB 250/mt($38/mt), with the price of ST01Z 1.0 mm galvanized coil standing at RMB 5,300/mt ($806/mt)

4.     Pre-painted steel prices have increased by RMB 250/mt ($38/mt), with the price of TDX51D+Z 0.5 mm pre-painted steel rising to RMB 6,400/mt ($973/mt).

5.     Medium plate prices are up by RMB 300/mt ($46/mt), and so Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate produced by the producer's medium plate production line costs RMB 4,400/mt ($669/mt) with Q235A 20 mm common carbon medium plate produced by Angang Steel's heavy plate production line costing RMB 4,400/mt ($669/mt).

Shipbuilding plate prices have increased by RMB 300/mt ($46/mt), with the price of CCSA 20 mm shipbuilding plate standing at RMB 4,640/mt ($705/mt).

6.     Silicon steel prices: the base price of 35AW300 steel has increased by RMB 150/mt ($23/mt), the base prices of 50AW600 and specifications above 50AW470 have increased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt), and prices of other specifications have risen by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt), with 50AW800 0.5 mm × 1,000 mm × C cold rolled silicon steel at RMB 7,450/mt ($1,132/mt).

7.     Wire rod prices have increased by RMB 170/mt ($26/mt). At present, the price of Q195-Q235 6.5-13 mm wire rod stands at RMB 4,030/mt ($612/mt).

All the above prices are ex-mill, do not include 17 percent VAT and are effective from February 1, 2011.
