In the first nine months of this year, Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding, almost doubled its commercial grade rolled steel product output to 284,800 mt, from 144,300 mt in January-September 2009.

In the third quarter of 2010, ZMZ produced 103,800 mt of commercial grade rolled steel products - up 151 percent year on year.

Compared with last year, this year ZMZ has considerably changed its product range - from ordinary steel grades back to its traditional range, which includes special steel grades, calibrated steel products and steel products with special surface finishes.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in August 2009 Mechel assumed management of and financial interest in the operation of ZMZ under a trilateral strategic partnership agreement reached between Mechel, ESTAR and the regional administration in the Chelyabinsk region.
