Zhanjiang Steel begins construction work on BF No. 3 coking project

On June 25, Chinese steelmaker Zhanjiang Steel began construction work on the coking project for its blast furnace No. 3, as announced by China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC). The coking project will include the construction of two 65-hole seven-meter coke ovens, which will have an overall annual production capacity of 1.60 million mt of coke. The project will achieve leading world standards for modern coke oven and gas purification facilities in terms of energy saving, environmental protection and the degree of automation, MCC stated.
