Brazilian mining company Zeus Mineração was awarded a permit to explore a manganese site, SteelOrbis has learned. The permit was granted by local regulator, the Brazilian National Mining Agency, ANM, and the site is located in Caetité, Bahia state.

Brazilian mining company Bamin was close to securing the permit in 2015, but a new revision by ANM awarded the permit to Zeus Mineração, according to a document filing accessed by SteelOrbis.

Zeus ranked as the second company in the bidding process to secure the permit. Zeus questioned Bamin’s filing documents, which resulted in the new ANM decision. ANM said Zeus presented a stronger proposal.
