In January-September this year, Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal's finished steel product output increased by 2.3 percent to 2.09 million mt, while its crude steel production rose by 3.8 percent to about 2.52 million mt, both compared to January-September 2009. In addition, the plant saw a 1.4 percent year-on-year growth in its pig iron output to about 2.06 million mt and a 2.3 percent year-on-year increase in its agglomerate production to about 3.67 million mt.
In September, Zaporizhstal's steel output was almost at the levels of the previous month, and included 249,000 mt of finished steel products, 290,000 mt of crude steel, 225,000 mt of pig iron and 410,000 mt of agglomerate.
