Zekelman Industries has recently announced plans to open a Z Modular facility near its Birmingham, Alabama mill in 2018. Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries and headquartered in Chicago, was launched in December 2016 to build modular construction units.

As part of the Zekelman Industries group, Z Modular can produce and supply 90 percent of the steel-related materials used in modular units – including HSS as the structural frame of the modules, steel conduit for electrical raceway, and steel pipe for mechanical applications.

Zekelman Industries includes the operating divisions of Atlas Tube, Picoma, Energex Tube, Sharon Tube, Wheatland Tube and Z Modular.
