Yunnan Province issues steel capacity replacement details

The Industry and Information Technology Commission of China's Yunnan Province has issued the capacity replacement details relating to the 100 mt converter due to be built by Yunnan-based Yuxi Yukun Iron and Steel Group and the planned elimination of one 35 mt converter and two 60 mt converters of Yuxi Xianfu Iron and Steel Group, also based in Yunnan. Accordingly, the new 100 mt converter will have an annual steelmaking capacity of 1.15 million mt, replacing the converters of Yuxi Xianfu Iron and Steel Group which have an annual steelmaking capacity of 1.532 million mt.

Meanwhile, Xianfu Iron and Steel Group will build one 52 mt alloy steel electric furnace, with a a capacity of 380,000 mt, to replace its 35 mt converter which has a capacity of 458,300 mt.
