Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works posts lower output results for Jan-Aug

Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works (EMZ), a subsidiary of Ukraine's largest vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest, has announced that in the January-August period of the current year its output of rolled steel products decreased by 8.4 percent year on year to 1.726 million mt.

EMZ's crude steel production in the given period fell eight percent to 1.758 million mt, while its pig iron production declined by 8.4 percent to 1.570 million mt, both year on year.

In August alone, the company produced 45,000 mt of rolled steel products, 46,000 mt of crude steel and 40,000 mt of pig iron compared to 237,000 mt of rolled steel products, 236,000 mt of crude steel and 204,000 mt of pig iron produced in the previous month.
