Xuzhou imposes emergency air pollution measures

The municipal government of Xuzhou in China’s Jiangsu Province has announced that, due to anticipated increases in air pollution, it has decided to implement emergency response measures effective from 20:00 on December 10. The measures will continue until further notice.

In particular, the transportation of materials in the steel, building materials, coking, casting, power generation, chemical and mining industries will be suspended. Meanwhile, transport operations involving collection and distribution at port facilities will be suspended. Moreover, open-air demolition, blasting, mining, crushing and concrete mixing operations will be halted.
