Xinxing Cathay commissions upgraded sintering project No. 4

Beijing-based Chinese state-owned company Xinxing Cathay International Group, which is a major domestic producer of ductile cast iron pipes, has commenced production at its upgraded sintering project No. 4 in Xinjiang, as reported by Xinjiang Daily on June 3.The company carried out upgrading work and the elimination of outdated capacities with the aim of boosting energy conservation and reducing emissions. The total investment amounted to RMB 63 million ($10.3 million), with RMB 25 million ($4.08 million) spent on upgrades of desulfurization and dust pelletizing facilities. After completion of work, the annual agglomerate output of the project has increased by 700,000 mt per year, while the daily outputs of the two sinter plants in the sintering project No. 4 will be 4,300-4,500 mt each.
