Xichang Steel & Vanadium ignites coke oven No. 3

Sichuan Province-based Xichang Steel & Vanadium Co., a subsidiary of Sichuan-based Chinese steel producer Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group (Pangang Group), has successfully ignited its coke oven No. 3 which forms part of the second phase of its coking project, as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Co. (MCC) on December 30.

MCC subsidiary China MCC5 Group Co. is responsible for construction work on the second phase project, which consists of two JNX3-70-1A coke ovens and has an overall designed annual coke output capacity of 1.4 million mt. The coke oven No. 3 will commence production in March 2014.
