WuKun Steel’s finished steel sales in Yunnan total 4.58 million mt in Jan-Nov

Yunnan Province-based Chinese steelmaker WuKun Steel Company, a joint venture of Wuhan Iron & Steel Group Co. (WISCO) and Kunming Iron and Steel Group, has stated that in January-November 2011 it sold 4.58 million mt of finished steel in Yunnan Province, accounting for 89 percent of its total sales.

WuKun Steel estimates that its sales revenue in 2011 will reach RMB 58 billion ($9.21 billion), while it expects its annual sales revenue to exceed RMB 100 billion ($15.87 billion) by 2014.

In 2010 the annual crude steel output capacity of WuKun Steel increased to 7 million mt, from 5 million mt in 2009. In December 2011, after the commissioning of its 2,500 m3 blast furnace, its steel production capacity has increased further.
