World’s 1st Bio Wave steel sheet by Korean POSCO

After three years of development, started in January 2000, Korean steel maker POSCO has developed the world's first Bio Wave steel sheet in cooperation with a research institute and received a quality certification mark granted by a publicly certified institution in Korea to products that radiate over 90% of far infrared rays as this product emitts over 95%. This new product is capable of intercepting 93% of electromagnetic waves, which is fifteen times higher than that of copper and aluminium and three times that of existing steel sheets. Added to that the coating of this product, the far infrared rays that are beneficial to the human body makes it an ideal material for steel framed houses, home appliances and furniture. According to the company's plans the production and sales of this Bio Wave steel sheet in cooperation with a plated and coated product maker POCOS, will start in the first half of 2003.
