WISCO’s 2009 sales revenues hit RMB 135 billion

Hubei province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Corporation (WISCO) achieved sales revenues of RMB 135 billion ($19,77 billion) for year 2009, up 12.5 percent year on year, its net profit being RMB 2.5 billion ($366 million), said Deng Qilin, general manager of WISCO on December 27.

In year 2009, WISCO is estimated to produce 29.65 million mt of pig iron, 30.53 million mt of crude steel and 29.4 million mt of finished steel, up 13.04 percent, 10.13 percent and 10.48 percent respectively year on year.

Mr. Deng also mentioned that the company plans to produce 36.3 million mt of pig iron, 37.9 million mt of crude steel and 36.17 million mt of finished steel in 2010, with expected sales revenues of RMB 150 billion ($22 billion).
