WISCO supplies U-section steel sheet piling for key project in Wuhan

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp. (WISCO) has announced that it has delivered its first batch of hot rolled U-section steel sheet piling for the Wuhan-Donghu channel project, having received an order to supply thousands of metric tons of the steel product in question for the project.
 
Construction work started on the project on October 27, 2012. The channel will have a total length of 10.63 km, including an 8.28 km-long under-lake tunnel and a 1.49 km-long bridge section. It will have six lanes for traffic.
 
WISCO also stated that in January this year its orders received for stranded steel wire reached a new high, increasing by 40 percent year on year.
