The pipe in question will be supplied for China's west-to-east natural gas transmission project.

The 6,407 km gas transmission project extends from Khorgos in the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region in western China to Fuzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Fujian. The project's total requirement of thick wall X80 pipeline steel will exceed 4 million mt.
