WISCO begins work on thin slab continuous casting and rolling project

On June 18, Wuhan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. commenced construction work on its thin slab continuous casting and rolling project, which includes two 150 mt converters, two thin slab concasting machines, and one 7-stand rolling production line.

With a planned capacity of 2.53 million mt to be used mainly in the manufacture of automobile body steel products, the project is expected to reach completion in 2008.
