Wheeling-Nisshin announces $28 million investment in new coated steel

According to local news media, US coated flat steel producer Wheeling-Nisshin Inc. formally announced Friday plans to invest $28 million for its Follansbee, West Virginia facility to produce ZAM-a new product that utilizes zinc, aluminum and magnesium. ZAM is a highly-corrosion-resistant, environmentally-friendly coated steel sheet product.

Wheeling-Nisshin is a joint venture between Japanese steelmakers Nisshin Steel and Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel.
