Vyksa Steel Works, a part of Russia-based OMK Group, has announced its production results for the first quarter of the current year.
Accordingly, in the given quarter Vyksa Steel Works' output of various kinds of pipes amounted to 520,000 mt, up 43 percent compared to the first quarter last year.

In the January-March period of this year, Vyksa Steel Works' output of railway wheels decreased by 56 percent year on year to 52,000 wheels.

"The increase in pipe production can be explained by expanded deliveries to OMK partners, which are Russia's largest oil and gas companies: Gazprom, Transneft, and others. In particular, in the January-March period, we delivered pipes for such projects as the Power of Siberia and Bovanenkovo-Ukhta. The decline in railway wheel production has to do with a fall in demand and the negative impact that dumping deliveries of Ukrainian wheels have had on Russian companies," said VSW managing director Sergey Filippov.
