Vyksa Steel Works, a part of Russia-based OMK Group, has stated that it has launched operation of new equipment for the application of a protective conservation coating for casings.

The aim of the project is to provide anti-corrosive protection for the casing produced at the factory at the time of its transportation and storage. Ultra-violet solidificated lacquer will be used for the coating. It provides anti-corrosion protection for the pipe's surface for up to nine months.

The new equipment has been installed at the mill's fifth pipe workshop. The potential to deliver casing with a conservation coating will give the mill's products another competitive edge.
