Vietnam’s steel imports up in Q1

Vietnam's Ministry of Trade disclosed that the country's steel imports rose 3.4% year on year to 699'000 tons in the first quarter of 2005. In the aforementioned period, Vietnam also imported 467'000 tons of steel ingots. This amount showed a significant drop compared to the same period last year. The Ministry attributes the decline to high import prices of steel and steel ingots.
