Vietnam’s steel and scrap imports increase in July from June

In July this year, Vietnam’s steel imports amounted to 1.41 million mt, up 19.2 percent compared to June, while its scrap imports increased by 16.2 percent month on month to 522,112 mt, according to the data published by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

In the January-July period this year, Vietnam’s steel imports dropped by 2.8 percent year on year to 8.13 million mt, while its scrap import shipments amounted to 3.13 million mt in the given period, rising by 8.3 percent year on year.
