Vietnam Steel to increase billet capacity

According to recent news in the market, Vietnam Steel is planning to increase its current billet capacity of 600'000 tons per annum to 2.5 million tons by 2005. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Vietnam Steel was also planning to establish a hot rolling mill with a capacity of 1.5 million tons per annum. However, an official from the company stated that the shortage in scrap supply may risk the plans of the company.
