Toronto-based vanadium producer Largo Resources said on Thursday it should resume the commodity’s output in Brazil on May 31.

The company said its Maracás Menchen mine was “minimally impacted” by a massive strike by truck drivers that lasted over a week. Largo Resources said the strike forced it to halt production for four days, but it has been able to use existing consumables inventory during the period, as well as intermediary stockpiles accumulated at the Brazilian mine to continue production.

“Largo has used the downtime to complete maintenance across the plant, including replacing the flaking wheel, assessing the furnace refractory, changing the de-ammoniator wires in the fusion section and completing minor repairs to the kiln and cooler refractory,” the company said.

Largo also claimed there was “no material financial impact” as a result of the strike.
