Vale's iron ore exports down 1.7 percent in January-February

In February this year, Brazilian miner Vale's iron ore export volume totaled 20.72 million mt, down 10.8 percent compared to February 2018, according to Brazil's National Union of the Industry of Extraction of Iron and Base Metals (Sinferbase). In the January-February period of the current year, Vale's iron ore exports decreased by 1.7 percent year on year to 49.09 million metric tons.

Meanwhile, in February this year Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market amounted to 1.15 million mt, falling by 10.7 percent year on year. In the first two months of this year, Vale's iron ore sales in its domestic market totaled 2.64 million mt, falling by 1.6 percent as compared with the same period of 2018.
