Vale to resume operations at Onça Puma nickel mine and plant

Brazilian miner Vale announced today, September 16, that it will resume nickel operations at Onça Puma, located in Para state in northern Brazil, following the decision by the president of the Supreme Federal Court to suspend the existing injunctions.

Nickel mining at the plant has been suspended since September 2017 and operations at the nickel processing plant have been suspended since June this year. With the court’s decision, Vale will be able to resume these operations.
