Brazilian mining giant Vale has announced that the Mangaratiba city government in Rio de Janeiro state has authorized the company to resume its operations at Guaiba Island Terminal in Mangaratiba.

Vale had temporarily suspended all its activities at the Guaiba facility following an order issued by the city government last week. The Brazilian company had argued that it had the required licenses for the regular operation of the terminal, issued by the competent authorities and, accordingly, it woul take all appropriate measures to ensure the reestablishment of its activities at the iron ore terminal.
