Vale has announced that it suspended works in one mining front of Brucutu iron ore mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil due to instructions from Brazil’s National Mining Agency ANM. However, the suspension will not impact iron ore production at Brucutu mine which has a capacity of 30 million mt per year.

ANM asserts that Vale has exceeded the mineral reserve limit in one of the operating mining fronts in Brucutu mine. Nevertheless, Vale says that it did not exceed the limit and it has fulfilled all the agency’s requirements to operate the mining.

Vale stated that it will take the appropriate measures in this case and will reach its iron ore and pellet sales guidance of 307-332 million mt in 2019.
