Brazilian miner and iron ore producer Vale named three new board members, the company said late this week: Murilo César Lemos dos Santos Passos and Roger Allan Downey, and Ken Yasuhara as an alternate member.

Vale said all executives have “solid experience and knowledge about the industry and Vale’s activities.”

Passos is the president of the board member of Tegma Gestão Logística and several other companies. He worked at Vale between 1970 and 1990 in different roles.

Downey is a board member and CEO at Fertimar. He also worked at Vale as a fertilizers, coal and strategy executive.

Yasuhara is a director and general manager of Mitsui & Co Brazil’s metals division.

Additionally, a media report said Vale concluded emergency contention works in Brumadinho. Vale said works also included properly removing the waste spilled during the Brumadinho dam break in January this year.
