In January-February of the current year,
Uzbekistan-based steel producer Uzmetkombinat's
crude steel output increased by 2.4 percent year on year to 115,300 mt.
In addition, in the first two months of this year Uzmetkombinat registered a 2.1 percent rise in its rolled steel product output to 106,600 mt, including 85,700 mt of long steel products - up 2.2 percent, both compared to January-February 2010.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, in 2010 Uzmetkombinat produced 717,400 mt of
crude steel - up 0.1 percent, and 691,600 mt of rolled steel products - up 0.7 percent, including 548,900 mt of long steel products - up 0.6 percent, all compared to 2009.
