Brazilian flats steelmaker Usiminas said on Wednesday it will pay shareholders BRL 92.2 million in interest on equity. The amount corresponds to BRL 0.0719 for each ordinary share and about BRL 0.0791 for each preferred share.
“The interest on equity will be allocated to the value of the dividends distributed by the company (… for) the 2018 fiscal year, integrating them for all legal purposes,” the steelmaker said.
Usiminas said it will pay the interest on equity to the shareholders on May 31 this year, based on the shareholding positions by the close of trading on January 7, 2019. Usiminas will also deduct withholding income tax in accordance with local regulations, except for those exempt from the tax and who present documented proof of such status.
