US-based L.B. Foster Company acquires Portec Rail Products

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based rail products manufacturers L.B. Foster Company and Portec Rail Products, Inc. announced Wednesday that the merger of Foster Thomas Company with and into Portec Rail Products, Inc. has been effective as of December 27, 2010. Portec is now a wholly owned subsidiary of L.B. Foster.

As of the close of trading on December 29, 2010, Portec's common stock will no longer be traded on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange.
