US tool steel exports up 90.5 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 16,462 mt in April 2019, up 90.5 percent from March and up 3.5 percent from April 2018 levels. By value, tool steel exports totaled $17.7 million in April, compared to $13.0 million in the previous month and $19.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in April with 15,756 mt, compared to 7,976 mt in March and 15,291 mt in April 2018. There were no other major destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US tool steel exports in April.
