According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 8,640 mt in March 2019, up 3.5 percent from February but down 25.0 percent from March 2018 levels. By value, tool steel exports totaled $13.0 million in March, compared to $12.4 million in the previous month and $17.2 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in March with 7,976 mt, compared to 7,724 mt in February and 10,324 mt in March 2018. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export tool steel in March.
