US tool steel exports down 30.4 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 7,887 mt in June 2019, down 30.4 percent from May and down 33.9 percent from June 2018 levels. By value, tool steel exports totaled $11.2 million in June, compared to $14.7 million in the previous month and $16.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in June with 7,359 mt, compared to 10,652 mt in May and 11,030 mt in June 2018. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US tool steel exports in June.
