According to census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 71,997 mt in February 2018, down 0.7 percent from January but up 7.2 percent from February 2017 levels. By value, tin plate imports totaled $70.4 million in February 2018, compared to $69.7 million in the previous month and $61.9 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most tin plate from the Netherlands in February, with 21,948 mt, compared to 19,127 mt in January and 19,664 mt in February 2017. Other top sources of imported tin plate in February include Canada, with 13,462 mt; Korea, with 12,439 mt; Germany, with 12,116 mt; Brazil, with 4,764 mt; and China, with 4,262 mt.
