According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tin plate totaled 12,095 mt in August, up 25.9 percent from July and up 61.5 percent from August 2016 levels. By value, tin plate exports totaled $8.2 million in August, compared to $6.6 million in the previous month and $5.3 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most tin plate to India in August with 3,398 mt, compared to 3,298 mt in July and 2,454 mt in August 2016. Other destinations include Canada, with 1,773 mt; Pakistan, with 1,632 mt; and Mexico, with 1,197 mt.
