The US Supreme Court has refused to hear the case brought by the American Institute for International Steel (AIIS) against the constitutionality of the Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.

The AIIS claimed that the Section 232 gives President Trump broad power to impose tariffs on national security grounds and therefore violates the US Constitution.

After the Court of International Trade ruled against the AIIS on March 25 this year, the AIIS petitioned the Supreme Court in April, bypassing the US Court of Appeals.
